The Challenge
An Asia-Pacific expert network operating across multiple countries needed to modernize their data infrastructure. Their expert records, over 700,000 across multiple CSV files, needed to be migrated into a proper database structure. Beyond the migration, they needed their internal platform integrated with HubSpot, custom billing and approval processes, and infrastructure that met strict data residency requirements across their operating regions.
What I Built
Data Migration
The core project was migrating 700K+ expert records from scattered CSV files into a structured PostgreSQL database. This wasn’t a simple import. The CSVs had inconsistent formatting, duplicate records, missing fields, and data spread across multiple files that needed to be correlated and merged. I built the migration pipeline, data validation, deduplication logic, and verification processes to ensure every record was accounted for.
HubSpot Synchronization
Built a full bi-directional synchronization between the internal Laravel platform and HubSpot CRM. Contacts, companies, deals, and custom properties stay in sync across both systems, and changes in either direction propagate automatically. This replaced manual data entry that was eating hours of the operations team’s time.
Custom Billing & Approval Workflows
Developed billing and approval processes tailored to the expert network model: tracking expert engagements, managing approval chains, and generating billing records. The system handles the complexity of multi-party billing where clients, experts, and the platform all have different rate structures.
Data Security & Infrastructure
Designed and deployed location-scoped infrastructure meeting data residency requirements. This ensures expert data stays within the required geographic boundaries. Implemented data security measures across the platform, including access controls and audit logging.
Data Analysis & Synchronization
Performed data analysis across their datasets to identify patterns, clean inconsistencies, and build reporting. Built synchronization pipelines across multiple databases to maintain data consistency as the platform scaled.
