Why Jellyfin?

Free, open-source, no subscription, no telemetry, no account required. Jellyfin serves my personal media library — music, series, and videos, from my own hardware without any third-party service deciding what features I get or when they change the pricing model.

How I Use It

Jellyfin runs on a dedicated node in my Proxmox homelab cluster, streaming to any device on my Tailscale network — laptop at home, phone in the car, or wherever I happen to be.

What it serves

  • Music: personal music library streamed to Symfonium on my phone
  • Series: TV shows organized and watchable from any device
  • Videos: personal video collection with proper metadata and organization
  • Remote access: available from anywhere through Tailscale without exposing ports to the internet

Status

Active: personal media server for music, series, and video streaming.
